Welcome to Levetons Conservation Studio
Preserving works of art for future generations
Levetons opened in 1887 in St Andrews Plain, Norwich and moved to Orford Hill in 1903. Its studio workshop relocated to 31 Timberhill to a purpose built studio. In 1980 the Picture Gallery also moved to Timber Hill. In 1998 the whole business left the city centre and established the studio in New Costessey. It now concentrates purely on framing, restoration and conservation.
Barry Leveton is a well-known and respected member of the Guild. He has worked on mountboard standards and tapes and adhesives standards in order to achieve recognised quality controls in the profession. He has chaired seminars, given lectures and written various articles on the subject of conservation of easel paintings and works of art on paper. In 2000 he was honored with The Guild Lifetime Achievement Business Award.
